Gunfighter 1

Advanced Rifle and Handgun Techniques

$225

Duration - 4 hours

What We Will Cover

Gunfighter 1 is the first installment of our tactical civilian training. It is a combined rifle and pistol class teaching advanced shooting and movement techniques to the truly dedicated shooter. The goal is for students to gain a fundamental understanding of the principles necessary to operate, and survive in, a chaotic and hostile environment. This is not a self-defense class, nor is it intended to promote the idea of violence. Rather the idea is to help prepare those students who are truly 2A focused for the worst possible scenario. This class includes lots of movement, and is intended to teach situational awareness and tactical decision-making in addition to new shooting skills. Students will be put through a number of physical exercises throughout the session in order to add an element of stress to make the training more realistic. These exercises are meant only to raise the heart and breathing rate of the student, not to provoke mental stress or fear of any kind.

In this class you will learn

  • Ammunition management

  • Weapon transitions

  • Tactical decision making

  • Principles of target identification

  • Shooting on the move

  • Shooting from unconventional positions

In this class you will implement principles of

  • Recoil control

  • Target transitions

  • Marksmanship and defensive accuracy

  • Speed and tactical reloads

  • SITUATIONAL AWARENESS!!!

Warning: If you are unfamiliar with the above-mentioned principles, consider signing up for our Tactical Handgun class first. If you arrive to class without a basic understanding of these principles, or demonstrate poor firearm safety techniques, you will be dismissed from class. This is for the safety of both our students and staff.

Failure to bring a suitable holster may result in the student being dismissed from class for safety reasons.

Note* Long pants are highly recommended. No low-cut/plunging neckline shirts permitted. This is for your safety, and the safety of those around you.

Note** Self defense situations are just as unpredictable as the weather in Wisconsin. We will be training at an outdoor range, so please be prepared for changes in weather and dress appropriately for the conditions. Sunscreen, sweatshirts, bug spray, and/or rain gear are recommended. Class will only be canceled/rescheduled due to severe weather (i.e. tornados, thunderstorms, hail, etc).

Note*** Our focus is preparing students for defensive situations. Therefore we will be using USPSA-style, human silhouette targets. Discussion and target scoring will be focused around stopping a threat.
