FAQs
Below you will find the most common questions about Foresight Defense and the classes we offer. If you don't find what you're looking for here, please reach out to us at admin@foresightdefensellc.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
I looked up the address on Google and it shows up as a residential property. Do I have the right address?
Yes. We are located at 662 W 5th Ave in Oshkosh. It is a residential address, but a portion of the property has been renovated into a classroom. This property is used for lecture and dryfire classes only. Live fire training is held at a local gun range.
Where do you hold live fire training?
We primarily take students to Springbrook Sportsman's Club located just off Hwy 21 between Oshkosh and Omro.
I want my child to learn basic firearm safety. Do you have a class for children?
Yes and no. We do not have a class designed specifically for children at this time. However we have had good success with children as young as 9 years old taking our Basic Handgun Class. We also accept minors in the Practical Handgun Class.
Do you offer a multi-state CCW class?
No. The CCW class we teach is designed only to meet the Wisconsin state requirements. HOWEVER, a Wisconsin concealed carry permit will allow you to carry in a total of 34 states. Most states that do not recognize the Wisconsin permit will only recognize resident permits for that particular state (i.e. Illinois, New York, California, etc.).
I signed up for the Basic Handgun class but don't have my own gun. Is this a problem?
No, we have several guns of different shapes and sizes that you can borrow in order to take the class. We simply ask that you let us know you need a loaner before class so we can have enough ready for everyone that needs one.
I took a CCW class a few years ago, but never sent in the application. Does my certificate expire?
No, Wisconsin only requires that you have proof of training and send that proof with your application. It does not matter how long ago the training took place.
I keep hearing radio adds for Concealed Carry classes that are cheaper than yours and offered online. Is there a reason I should take an in-person class instead.
YES! The companies offering online CCW classes are a SCAM, usually offering a permit for a state that has reciprocity with a majority of states in the country. The problem is that Wisconsin requires Wisconsin residents to have a Wisconsin CCW permit, and online training does not satisfy the state's requirements.
